Safety Inspector for ordnance operations.

Position is contingent upon contract award.

Position is located in Oahu, Hawaii.

The Safety Inspector implements the Safety Plan for ordnance operations at Pearl Harbor and Lualualei.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development of the Safety Plan for the ordnance handling and storage project.

  • Implement the Safety Plan for ordnance handling and storage operations.

  • Conduct Safety Inspections as directed by the Safety Supervisor.

  • Coordinate across the project to proactively assist all team members in operating safely.

SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS / PREREQUISITES:

Must be able to complete required Naval Ordnance qualification / certification training.

Training is achieved through a combination of on-line and classroom training.

Qualifications:

FORMAL EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

At least three (3) years’ experience as a Safety Inspector in an hazardous material handling work environment which includes at least one (1) year experience in inspecting ordnance operations or conducting safety inspections and environmental health surveys.

Have familiarity with NAVSEA OP 5 and NAVSEA SW020-AC-SAF-010 or similar DoD ordnance safety program.

Clearance:

Must have or be capable of obtaining a Secret security clearance.
