Primary Purpose: The KM Gulf Area Project Manager-Ops will be responsible for providing the direction and technical support necessary to ensure the reliable, safe, efficient and regulatory compliant operation of the 35 Vapor Combustion Units within the region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the Area Engineering Group and the Operations and Maintenance departments in the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the Gulf Area's VCUs.
Provide both onsite and remote technical troubleshooting / repair services for vapor control and loading equipment on an as-needed and/or emergency basis.
Provide hardware based automation support.
Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance is performed on all vapor control equipment.
Provide technical support in other terminal processes and associated equipment, such as metering, proving, sampling, etc., as directed.
Work closely with KM's Gulf Area SCADA, EHS, Operations and Maintenance groups, as well as its vendors and suppliers, in support of this equipment.
Provide detailed information on all tasks completed as well as providing any recommendations that would benefit company or equipment operation according to company policy.
Complete all required documentation of the above services completed, in a timely manner and according to company policy.
BS degree in Engineering or substituted by at least ten years of hands on VCU experience.
Five (5) + years of experience in the design, construction, operation and/or maintenance of vapor control systems is preferred.
Experience dealing with multi-discipline teams in various locations in a fast pace environment.
Familiarity with API, EPA and TCEQ specifications, standards, and recommended practices as they relate to vapor control systems is a plus.
Competent in USCG marine vapor system regulations and certifications, as well as experience interacting with USCG certifying entities.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed
Complete all Company required training and perform all duties in compliance with Company safety, health, environmental policies and goals.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities:
Be capable of representing KM during any testing, active service or commissioning project.
Have electrical skills equal to a journeyman level or a 2-year certificate for instrumentation engineering technology.
Have a full understanding of all mechanical and electrical drawings that are typical to these types of equipment.
Be responsible for maintaining and operating all company provided tools including vehicles, cell phones, laptop computers, safety equipment, company provided PPE and truck inventory required to complete the above tasks.
Be responsible to complete and qualify for all company related Safety requirements for this position.
Be available and responsible for all on-call request for service support in the region. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
Must be willing and able to work as a part of team.
Be self-motivated, able to take instructions and use sound judgment in day to day decision making.
Ensure safety in performance of duties common to the position.
Punctual and reliable in work attendance, including responding to troubleshooting 24/7
Must be capable to perform all essential duties of the job.
Ability to travel according to workload is required.
Computer skills; knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Must be accountable and take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Outside work may be in all types of weather conditions and lighting.
Office environment for about half of the time, outside in the field about half of the time. Required to occasionally travel and visit active construction sites as needed. During field visits proper PPE will be required.
Other tasks as reasonably assigned by Kinder Morgan.
