Our client, based in Orange County, is seeking an IT Operations and Infrastructure Project Manager.
The individual in this role will perform technical project or program management work focused on internal network project upgrades and refreshes. The candidate will typically manage these projects/programs from initiation through delivery. The project/program managers are responsible for meeting the project/program requirements by applying project management skills, tools, and techniques to manage the project/program scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk.
Essential Job Functions:
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Conducts end to end project management of multiple large projects and may also manage sub-components of a large program. Leads cross-functional teams to complete projects or program deliverables within allotted timeline and budget. Identifies key internal/external stakeholders necessary for project completion and develops overall strategy for executive of high value projects/program. Defines project/program scope and objectives, guides activities of a project/program team including delegating tasks to team members, identifies resources, and establishes master timeline for deliverables.
Project Management responsibilities:
Oversee projects ensuring design reviews are held, budgets/timelines/priorities are respected, documentation is maintained, and project deliverables are met.
General knowledge of IT infrastructure and project experience
Ability to direct the diagnosis of work flow problems, critical paths and institute remedies.
Customer service orientation with a strong problem solving approach.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time in the areas of Infrastructure (Desktop, Server, Network, Software, Storage).
Attend project scoping meetings to gather technical requirements.
Articulate project requirements to design engineers.
Provide direction to resources, monitor technical efforts, assemble key project deliverables, report project status, and raise awareness on issues requiring escalation.
Facilitate communication and problem solving support across cross?functional teams/departments and provide information efficiently to all management levels on outstanding issues, project. activities, and progress.
Manage the overall project budget inclusive of labor expenses, capital costs, and proper forecasting to keep budget variances within tolerance.
IT Procurement and Vendor Management
Software Licensing Management / Microsoft EA
PMP is a plus.
Technical background with at least 5 years of experience in IT Industry in a technical role.
4?8 years leading large scale IT projects across enterprise environment.
Experience developing project schedules, managing team resources, creating work breakdown structures, estimating size and effort for new projects, as well as develop detailed requirements for these projects.
Must be extremely organized with the ability to articulate thoughts in a clear and concise manner, lead by positive example, possess excellent interpersonal skills to develop healthy trustful relationships with customers, vendors, superiors, peers, and subordinates alike.
Must have practical experience with managing technology projects and successfully meet deadlines.
IT Technology experience a definite advantage (Server Upgrades, Network Upgrades, Microsoft Windows Operating System Upgrades, Office365 Rollouts)
Proficient with productivity tools: MS Office Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, Skype, SharePoint.
