Description--

POSITION INFORMATION: Works independently to maintain and repair complex Steam & Chill Water Plant generating equipment and its related peripheral equipment, the tunnel distribution system associated with the OU HSC, and to all equipment assigned to the Plant. Troubleshoots and resolves any equipment or operations problems. Trains other employees how to repair and maintain all equipment, handle and mix chemicals, and safety rules and regulations

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

1.Maintenance and Adjustment. Monitors, adjusts and operates boilers, chillers, and cooling towers and resolves any equipment or operation problems.

2.Maintaining Records. May record and maintain auxiliary equipment records.

3.Chemical Manipulation. Mixes/combines various chemicals following instructions and safety procedures.

4.Water Testing. Conducts various water tests to check chemical levels, determines if chemical levels should be adjusted, and makes necessary adjustments.

5.Equipment Monitoring. Monitors various computers to ensure steam and chill equipment are operating efficiently and correctly. Troubleshoots any problems with equipment.

6.Provide Training. Trains employees how to repair and maintain all equipment and maintain equipment records. Trains employees how to mix/combine chemicals and the proper use of various chemicals and Safety precautions when handling and mixing chemicals.

7.Plant Maintenance. Performs advanced plant maintenance duties, to include but not limited to, maintaining equipment and performing complex repairs within the individual's level of expertise. Performs periodic, preventive maintenance inspections.

8.Snow/Ice Removal. Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, streets, and parking lots using hand tools and/or heavy equipment.

9.As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Qualifications--

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED

24 months of steam & chill water plant operation experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Advanced knowledge of steam and chill equipment and operations.

Ability to operate and maintain highly specialized equipment.

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions to technical and operation problems of moderate difficulty.

Ability to follow more complex instructions and procedures.

Ability to read complex schematics, blue prints, and drawings.

Ability to understand, apply, and train other employees on all safety issues and plant operations.

Ability to multitask.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Certifications:

City of Oklahoma City High Pressure Boiler License

State of Oklahoma High Pressure Boiler License

Valid Oklahoma Driver's License
