Oakbrook Center in Oakbrook, IL is hiring a new Associate Operations Manager to join the terrific team at this thriving shopping center!

This is a salaried role designed to further develop the individual for a dynamic career as an Operations Manager at GGP. Within approximately 12-24 months, relocation may very well be required.

You’ll participate in new tenant openings, successful events, innovative problem solving, exciting energy savings initiatives, and be at the heart of making groundbreaking projects come to fruition! There is never a dull moment at Oakbrook

The successful candidate after the first year will be able to:

  • Conduct a preconstruction meeting independently.

  • Participate actively in monthly expense re-forecasting.

  • Have an understanding of vendor contracts in place including scope of work and payment schedule.

  • Actively take tenant and customer calls, using resources of the lease, property engineers, maintenance, outside vendors, etc. to address issues.

  • Actively participate in RFP process for contracted services and capital projects.

Requirements

Qualifications include the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Flexibility and willingness to relocate

  • 1-2 years in the property or construction management industry

  • 1-2 years administrative/technical experience and knowledge of property physical systems

  • Understanding of building systems, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems desired

  • Good analytical skills

  • Proven ability to be flexible, prioritize and manage multiple projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner

  • Willingness to learn new skills

  • Knowledge of computer software and peripherals

  • 1 year of supervisory experience with employees and/or contracted services preferred
