The Operations Excellence – Principle/Consulting Business Process Specialist will implement strategic direction and lead specific projects within the Energy Management Division – Low Voltage Products Operations (SII EM LP PMU) for business improvement programs that focus on Operational aspects. This will include Leadership of sub-modules that align with a given specialist’s capabilities. Efforts will contribute to the overall targets for Operations’ Strategic Policy Deployment, Productivity, Delivery Reliability and Sales Growth as required by EM Divisional goals. This position will influence and work closely with local site leaders in manufacturing operations, order engineering, DTC engineering, procurement, internal Siemens component suppliers, pricing, sales growth in varied business models ranging from Engineer-to-Order to Make-to-Stock (ETO, MTO, and MTS). The Business Process Specialist is expected to influence and contribute to the development of the strategic plans to optimize operations and related business processes.

Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Organize and lead periodic project meetings and reviews for projects within the assigned local sites or cross function areas.

  2. Work with other Operations Excellence colleagues and local/business unit managers and controllers to measure and track project’s targets and costs.

  3. Set and regularly adjust project targets based on business conditions, estimated savings/costs and measured results.

  4. Assist local site managers & leaders, attend project meetings, regularly assess progress, resource planning and assist in achieving team goals.

  5. Contribute to development of benchmarking comparisons to identify gap, potential cross site synergy and competitive position

  6. Project resource planning for programs ensuring that portfolio of projects stay on track thru application of appropriate monetary and human resources.

  7. Support sites and operations management in the long range business planning (LRBP), annual business planning (ABP) and Forecasting process by providing estimates and targets.

  8. Communicate projects status to senior management team.

  9. Develop consulting competencies in key areas where the Business Process Specialist demonstrates and teaches techniques and methods to other operational managers/leaders including Siemens Performance Systems (LEAN), 6 Sigma, Starpower Operations or other operating models (Operational Bench marking and Assessment), TOP+, Digitalization.

  10. Oversee and lead corporate initiatives from global or regional directives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS in Engineering.

  2. Strong operations and technical background with minimum five to eight years experience in manufacturing operations or manufacturing engineering.

  3. Demonstrated project management excellence with large scale/complex programs.

  4. Strong leadership and influencing skills with all levels – hourly employees to senior management.

  5. Outstanding written and oral presentation/communication skills.

  6. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  7. Good business acumen and understanding of basic financial principles.

  8. Demonstrated SPS (LEAN), TOP+ and Six Sigma background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Masters in Engineering, Engineering Management, Business.

  2. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt. Certified Snr. Expert/Expert SPS (Black/Green Belt LEAN), Project Management education or certification.

  3. Preferred 10+ years manufacturing operations background.

  4. Exposure to both Engineer-to-Order to Make-to-Stock business environments on a holistic basis (i.e. from Sales to Shipment). Engineering-Manufacturing Design-to-Cost (DTC), Design-for- Manufacturing (DFM) and directly related procurement experience.

  5. Knowledge of Siemens systems and methods including SPS, Starpower, One PUMA Web, SAP, COMPAS, etc.

  6. Ability to travel 50%.

  7. Strong MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Project skills, Bi-lingual.
