Role Summary:

The Project COE india Engineering Leader ensures a global responsibility for COE India performances and operation. Implements the missions entrusted to the engineering offices by the Global Project Execution Center of excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:

Key missions of the Project COE india Engineering Leader:

o Engineering strategy

• Involve the project engineering function at ITO phase and make it accountable for engineering budget and technical solution proposed at COE France engineering request.

• Propose and deploy the ‘Make or Buy ‘strategy for engineering activities, define the needs with the discipline Owners

• Define with discipline owners’ competence requirement per activity to meet the mission given to the COE engineering team.

o Management of engineering office

• Nominate discipline Owners with support of French COE

• Nominate the key people on project execution with support of discipline owners

• Responsible of the engineering office budget (investment, overheads, other costs) with support of regional offices controller

• Consolidate engineering workloads and manage resources issues (ITO & OTR teams)

• Consolidate skills assessment and perform with discipline owners competence gap analysis on a regular base and propose action plan to fill the gap, as per Grid engineering process.

• Define required recruitment plans per discipline

o Engineering process and tools

• Insures through discipline owners consistent process and tools with French COE

• Deploy GRID engineering tool and process including KPI used to measure engineering performance and effectiveness.

• Secure with the support of IT service the adequacy between CAD tools and IT platform

• Ensure knowledge capitalization through ROE, toward sales, ITO team and Project Engineering

o People management

• Lead and manage more specifically the disciple Owners to ensure performance standards, annual objectives, policies and procedures are met and to give coherent objectives to all engineering categories

• Ensure the teams have the right level of know-how and competency to perform their responsibilities through coaching and development

• Regularly manage and review performance of lead team according to GE practices.

o Quality

• Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes in EMH

• Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 15 + yrs of Engineering activities in EPC type environment in T&D, Power Gen or O&G industry

• Previous experience in HVDC Project would be a plus

• Mastering of some engineering processes such as: Civil work, Plant configuration, control &protection hardware, System & performance studies or Electrical design

• Successful experience in management of engineering teams

• Strong influencing and relationship building skills

• Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes

• Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel in the region.

• Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to succinctly communicate complex messages

• Demonstrated ability to lead in an unstructured environment and deliver results

• Demonstrates ownership & accountability, judgment and decision making, influences & inspires team, creates a vision and strategy, and has passion for the role

• Global experience and mindset including high technical cultural competence and sensitivity

Desired Characteristics:
