Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment (NJ) & Tioga Downs Casino (NY) Slot Operations Supervisor in Nichols, New York

The Slot Operation Supervisor's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and overall satisfaction of all guests and associates during their shift. Furthermore, the Casino Supervisor will be well-versed in New York Regulations and property Internal Controls to ensure compliance of matters brought to their attention.

The Slot Operations may be assigned duties in a specific department, depending on their work schedules. The Slot Operations Supervisor may be assigned in areas outside their primary job function, depending on business needs.

  • Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.

  • Ensure the property is presentable, including but not limited to cleanliness, appropriate music levels, and televisions are properly set.

  • Ensure departments are appropriately staffed based on business volumes.

  • Actively support the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.

  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) as well as the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to explain the basic play for different VLT machines to customers.

  • Understand and perform the company’s “Be the BEST” culture.

  • Promote positive customer relations at all times.

  • Maintain a consistent and good attendance record.

  • Promote departmental and property-wide promotions with all Customers.

  • Actively participate in the execution of casino events, jackpot photos, and announcements.

  • All other duties as assigned.

The Slot Operation Supervisor will undergo a comprehensive training program that will ensure complete knowledge of New York Minimum Internal Control Standards and company policies. This training will be designed and administered by the Regional Director of Internal Audit or his designee. The Casino Manager and Casino Supervisors are required to sign a New York Regulations Training Acknowledgment form at intervals deemed appropriate by the Regional Director of Internal Audit.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

College-level communications training and/or related experience preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Previous work experience with the public required. The successful candidate must have Supervisor experience and demonstrated the ability to adequately handle guest and associate issues. Must have experience in gaming/casino operations.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must possess strong verbal communication and public relation skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Guests and other Associates of the company.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
