FMC is looking for an individual who has a Chemical\Mechanical Engineer Degree who has interest and experience in a chemical process production environment.

Production\Operations Supervisor

Accountable for ensuring safe, consistent, reliable shift operations by providing leadership, managing process and personal safety, environmental compliance, meeting product quality specifications and achieving plant performance objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support deliberate improvement in safety, health, environmental and housekeeping performance (6S)

  • Ensure subordinate 100% compliance of EHS requirements including PPE use, incident reporting, safe completion of life critical activities within department, process safety, food safety and quality standards

  • Continually and deliberately identify and implement improvements in work systems, processes and people development through driving daily and weekly key KPIs, assigning and managing remedial actions for all adverse performance

  • Ensure preventive, operator driven reliability (ODR) and work practices are executed as required by department

  • Assist with development and management of life critical activities, planning activities, and schedule

  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the production department

  • Support department KPI achievement and production cost management

  • Prioritize maintenance work

  • Execute production schedule and production orders effectively to meet customer requirements

  • Ensure operators conduct initial assessment when issues arise in process or with production equipment

  • Collaborate with Production Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve production and maintenance issues

  • Provide shift reporting on all required metrics

  • Assist with and lead MOCs, group safety reviews, pre-startup safety reviews, and life critical activities

  • Develop or revise working practices and procedures to ensure compliance with standards

  • Ensure production team identifies and prevents non-conformance to quality specifications

  • Use key competencies to effectively supervise and utilize labor

  • Responsible for shift staffing, movement of operators between shifts, scheduling vacations, and filling planned outages. Monitors shift overtime.

  • Experience preferred in a union enviroment.

BS degree in business, engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a minimum or 5 years of operations experience in a chemical manufacturing. Leadership experience is highly preferred.

Must have demonstrated experience working in a team environment as well as good communication skills. Must be able to work rotating shifts.
