About Global Markets Operations

Barclays is a market leader in many of the global markets and asset classes. The Global Markets Operations (GMO) team plays an important role supporting Barclays businesses predominantly within Barclays International (BI) covering Investment Bank, Corporate and Wealth areas. The function is responsible for operational performance, managing risk and control, supporting business growth and initiatives, developing operating models, and managing change and strategy to build an effective and scalable platform.

Role Purpose

o Must possess subject matter expertise in RRP requirements and developments in order to help Operations stakeholders to clearly define requirements and to facilitate development of Operations components.

o Actively coordinate development, production and monitoring of Operations sections of resolution and recovery plan and other related RRP requirements throughout various phases.

o Coordinate Operations submissions to regulators related to RRP and other inquiries and exams. Prepare Senior Operations stakeholder for meetings with regulators

Key Accountabilities

o Lead the development and maintenance of effective relationships with BI Operations and ensure the timely delivery of Operations sections of plan content that complies with relevant regulatory requirements and meets senior management expectations.

o Manage team responsible to deliver Operations content required in the Plan submission

o Able to manage projects effectively, work with multiple workstream deliverables and write/produce a high quality, thorough Operations sections of the resolution plan submission of consistent style that meets all requirements and expectations of the regulators.

o Negotiate with stakeholders on content and timelines as required to ensure resolution plan Operations content supports the global and/or US strategy for resolution and recovery planning.

o Write, edit and coordinate the development, delivery, review and approval of assigned sections of the annual resolution plan, presentations, or other documents.

o Prepare materials used with various Regulators to reflect various aspects of Operations and to the intended audience

o Support ad hoc requests and projects in support of the Head of Americas Operations

Person Specification

Basic Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s degree

o 5 years of post Bachelors experience in relevant field

o 5 years of relevant experience in managing projects successfully to completion

Preferred Qualifications:

o Previous experience working in US Resolution Planning at a systemically important institution. Knowledge of regulatory requirements with respect to US resolution and recovery planning

o Leader with strong interpersonal skills, including ability to persuade and/or negotiate to get desired outcome

o Strong writing skills and with ability to write appropriately for senior management and regulator audiences

o Effective oral communication skills

o Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

o Ability to be flexible in approach and adapt to changing priorities

o Consistently deliver a quality work product that considers all inputs and views from a variety of contributors

o Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office: Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel

o Ability to effectively manage people.

o Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
