Job Summary – The Parallon Patient Access Operations Director is primarily responsible for oversight and management of the operations for scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and eligibility areas. They will be responsible for identifying Best Demonstrated Practices and the development and implementation of Patient Access processes for standardization, productivity enhancements, and cost reduction. They are also responsible for monitoring performance and working with the SSC to implement these across the operations. This will also include developing direction for information systems strategies, system specifications and SSC policies and procedures. This individual is a liaison between Parallon Corporate, IT&S Product Development, and SSC personnel regarding issues that arise in the respective areas. All field communications are coordinated with the Parallon Patient Access Director prior to implementation. Serving in this capacity, this individual must demonstrate strong commitment to stakeholder relationships by taking ownership of issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner. They must have an extensive background in day-to-day operations, AR systems, regulatory requirements, Parallon company policies and procedures and managing professional resources. This individual will also be responsible for working hand in hand with the Parallon COO, CEO, CFO, and their counterparts responsible for developing the future strategy and prioritization of projects. Must be willing to travel.

Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Develop and implement HIS upgrades related to scheduling, registration and other related areas to ensure that SSC operations are efficient and cost effective

  • Work with all stakeholders to implement vendor solutions which integrate with the HIS technologies supported by Parallon

  • Monitor performance indicators to identify areas for best practice recognition

  • Develop best practice documentation and implementation plans

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of HIS and Other technical solutions within PTAC processes and align with SSC business and budget requirements, including process design and standardization

  • Actively communicate with division, facility and corporate stakeholders in managing HIS conversions/implementations and upgrade initiatives through the Parallon implementation process

  • Create, administer and maintain management reports reflecting accuracy and timeliness of Patient Access processes

  • Direct IT&S related to the SSC needs, development of ROI for system changes, prioritization and alignment of resources with needed enhancements related to each HIS and technical solution for PTAC processes and tools

  • Contribute to training and education materials for use in SSC training

  • Actively communicate with division, facility and corporate stakeholders in managing HIS initiatives through Parallon

  • Plan, coordinate and hold meetings with key stakeholders to ensure optimal performance across all key Patient Access HIS and technical solution interfacing processes and for any special projects

  • Work with the Parallon Revenue Cycle Directors related to any issues or changes to process that cross the functional areas of responsibility (e.g. system changes, education, policy change, etc.)

  • Work with Parallon Compliance Director related to key process issues and determine resolution (e.g. system changes, education, policy change, etc.)

    Education

    B.S. in Business Administration or equivalent work experience

    Experience

    Minimum of 15 years’ experience in financial, operational and system processes related to A/R Management. Parallon scheduling and registration experience required. Requires knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes, policies, best demonstrated practices, including regulatory requirements related to Patient Access processes: Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, Authorization, Registration, Financial Counseling.
