JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview: Set-up coiling equipment, inspect parts, operate coiling equipment when needed. Responsible for satisfying customers by meeting specifications and delivery requirements while pursuing continual improvement and achievement of established Company goals. Essential Duties: Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and rules. Promote a safety awareness and commitment at all times. Maintain confidentiality of information received, created, or processed. Load and reload wire onto coiling machines. Prep machines and set-up simple physical spec jobs, e.g., compression, extension, loose tolerances. Operate and adjust more complex jobs, e.g., conical, torsion, tight tolerance. Operate more than one machine at a time. Make basic adjustments in program and machine set-up, e.g., OD, pitch, square up ends. Polish arbors, coiling points and sharpen cutters. Grind arbors to size. Insert tooling (per written set-up instructions-if available) and load program. Read and understand QP-13-01 for nonconforming materials. Accurately fill out applicable quality-related forms. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Maintain 6S cleanliness standard in work area. Identify and assist in leading the implementation of Continuous Improvement. Set-up and produce barrel, double diameter, and conical springs. Troubleshoot minor problems with spring and coiling machine. Make more complex adjustments (i.e., more complex than Coiler Set-Up C is capable of), e.g., cam placement and pitch tools. Make more complex adjustments to program and macro program. Make more complex adjustments, to program and set-up. Essential Duties (continued): Make precise tooling (arbors and pitch tools). Write new, complex program; with multi bends and plains. Set-up tight index jobs. Set-up light wire with large index jobs. Build tools in computer. Troubleshoot all set-up and spring issue problems. Design all tooling needed to complete jobs. Set-up multiple machines (more than 6), operate multiple machines, or set-up one while operating another. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Math Ability: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent. Convert decimals to millimeters and vice versa. Convert metric to inch and vice versa. Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram. Computer Skills: To perform this position successfully an individual should have knowledge of or the ability to efficiently learn inventory and manufacturing software and Microsoft Excel. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
