India Trade Operations Manager - Vice President


  • The main purpose of the role is to provide a tailored top quality service to Citi’s India clients and supporting the expansion of the Trade business across the Financial Institutions and Corporate portfolios. Trade Ops mgr will have to work with all India branches, vendors, clients and business partners to effectively execute Operations plans

  • Trade Operations Manager should also be able to provide a strong leadership in Risk and Controls, alignment of processes to Citi policies and meeting all regulatory requirements

Key Deliverables are as follows:

Remarkable Client Experience:

  • Increase in client kudos and decrease in client escalations

  • Exception reduction to increase STP

  • Improved results on VOC for India Trade

  • Project Beryl: milestones per agreed plan and set the right model for remarkable client experience


  • Coach and develop the team to create the best in class Trade team

  • Low regretted attrition

  • VoE

  • Recognize superlative efforts by team

  • Ensure minimum overlap of activities and enhance role clarity


  • Right placement Project Crystal

  • Improve Scanning TAT at DPC and reduce bunching

  • Implementation of control dashboard and reduction in ageing on deferred/suspense/nostro accounts

Risk and Control:

  • IBAM score improvement

  • Identify risks proactively and fix them

  • Review and strengthen AR/CENC/Sundry process

  • Deliver on productivity initiatives for 2015

  • Identify further opportunities in exception reduction, deliver on saves in Trade Transformation and AVATAR

  • Ensure that Plan for 2015 is met

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 12-14 years of experience in India trade operations/services or

  • Post Graduate (preferably Finance) with 8-10 years of experience in India trade operations/services
