Responsible for the daily scheduling/coordinating of the CMU Events Center. Coordinates the scheduling and management of various facilities rental programs. Coordinates all event management of the CMU Events Center.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in recreation administration, sports management, events management or related field. At least two years of increasingly responsible experience in a recreation or athletic setting in facility operations (Graduate Assistant experience included). Demonstrated ability to maintain positive interpersonal relations with faculty, staff, work associates, and facility users. Strong personnel management and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to organize and manage a large student staff. Knowledge base of events and sports facility operations and programming areas. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
Experience working in an events center operation. Demonstrated ability to organize and direct work activity of student employees. Demonstrated strong working ability of various computer applications. Demonstrated ability to train student personnel in the area of event and facility management. Professional Rescuer’s and First Aid Certification.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates the facility scheduling for the CMU Events Center and maintains an accurate facility scheduling system. Evening and weekend hours are required. Coordinates all aspects of facility and programming operation and student personnel during evening and weekend hours. Hires, trains, and supervises the CMU Events Center student personnel. Distributes daily facility schedules. Coordinates daily facility usage needs. Provides on-site supervision for various events; manages all facility set-ups and breakdown of equipment. Manages the equipment issuing system and monitors facility and equipment usage, conducts inspections and risk management assessments. Develops, interprets, and applies policies and procedures related to facility operation and programming activities. Works closely with the custodial and university facility management staff to maintain the high standard of the facility. Completes all necessary daily reports. Assists with billing/invoicing of renters of the facility.
