Senior Operations Leaders: Multiple Opportunities (044378)Job SummaryCSX is seeking experienced railroad operations professionals to deliver to our customers by leading the safe and efficient operations across our network. The successful candidates will act as strategic leaders and serve in critical roles managing the day-to-day and strategic operations of the system. Accountable for managing a team of highly skilled professionals and work collaboratively with other department in the handling of crews and operations leading to better network efficiencies resulting in lower operating expenses.Primary Activities and ResponsibilitiesManage terminal operations to ensure service commitments to the customers are met. Identify and improve upon operational efficiencies.Directs supervision of managers, Train and Engine (T&E) employees, Clerks, and Yardmasters.Develop future leaders through coaching, training, skill enhancement, and performance feedback of subordinate managers.Communicate service failures and respond to service inquiries. Ensure attainment of all service and budget goals.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all key business partners.Effectively communicate and influence the adoption of strategies that drive Precision Scheduled Railroading.Coordinate activities related to derailments and other service disruptions.Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED7 or more years of experience in Rail OperationsKnowledge and SkillsRailroad industry knowledgeKnowledge of terminal operationsProblem solving and decision making skillsAble to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and achieve results within expected parametersAnalytical ability to understand and resolve local issues related to recognizing variances to operating protocolsDemonstrate competent knowledge of collective agreements and other applicable regulationsAbility to anticipate, be prepared to, and accept changeAbility to communicate effectively and build working relationships at all levels of an organizationKnowledge of regulatory standardsPersonal leadership skillsJob RequirementsAvailable to report to work with two-hour advance noticeWear protective equipment (such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection)Work outside in all weather conditionsDifferent shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (including working weekends)Safety CommitmentSafety is a way of life at CSX, encompassing every aspect of company operations.
