Responsibilities Req ID: 38923 As delegated by RN, perform unit/community specific technical and direct care tasks as indicated by the specialized needs of the patient population Maintain quality of the diagnostic processes on the patient care unit Obtain and transmit an artifact-free 12 lead EKG tracing on the patient care units Documentation EKG interpretation Apply telemetry monitors, change patches and batteries for patients Education 2 years college/vocational education -or- 2 quarters of clinical experience in a nursing program -or- EMT/MLT/Medical Assistant Certification -or- 2 or more years current Operations Technician experience (direct patient care assistance, phlebotomy, and EKG tech) -or- 1-2 years of hospital experience preferred Qualification/Skills Experience 12 lead EKG, monitor interpretation and direct care experience preferred Skills Excellent interpersonal skills, multitasking, and teamwork are necessary Priority setting, problem solving, ability to communicate effectively with patient, families, physicians and staff, excellent team work skills, ability to be self-directed Patient care experience, 12 lead EKG testing, EKG monitoring, medical terminology and basic computer skills Licensure/Certifications EMT or Medical Assistant certification preferred Work Schedule 0.7 every other weekend, straight nights Location/Community Information Minneapolis boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a place to call home whether on a lake, golf course, or in an adjoining suburb.
