RBC Operations Initiatives Manager - Tax and Client Reporting in Minneapolis, Minnesota

What is the opportunity? As an Initiatives Manager for Tax and Client Reporting you would provide strategic consultation, direction, support, and provide leadership on reporting projects, processes, and regulatory initiatives. You would have the opportunity to consult and interface with various operational and technology departments, lead high detail analysis of program workflow, business workflow and documents related procedures. You would partner with the various business lines to solve problems and improve processes, and documents technical improvements and innovations. What will you do? The ability to work well with and coordinate resources from groups both within Operations and across the broader organization. Demonstrate strong leadership skills and attention to detail. The ability to provide support related to project management, risk management, business process, within an ever-changing regulatory framework. The ability to understand the needs of the business lines and align operational initiatives to support those needs. This will involve becoming familiar with processes and systems as well as business hierarchy and function. Actively leads in conjunction with the Senior Manager in planning of aspects of client-facing document and system changes with business line, operational, and technical personnel for client reporting documents and processes Works with the Senior Manager to ensure that programming proposals meet with business line approval and requirements Actively consults with Senior Manager and Department Manager to provide guidance for the department as it relates to service improvements and industry-related planning, including medium- and long-term project work Advocates for reporting issues as they relate to the firm's planning at appropriate meetings, presentations, and planning sessions across business lines Participates in compilation and analysis of key statistics, work volumes, quality and production metrics What do you need to succeed? Must-have High School diploma or equivalent plus five years of related work experience Ability to prioritize deadlines for workgroup when necessary Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment with the ability to provide direction to other team members Experience with general program and logic flow and familiarity with database design Previous experience with the securities or banking industry or supporting industry Proficient skills in Windows-based software products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access Understanding of project management methodology, business analysis approach, and required tools to support these activities Working knowledge and understanding of brokerage operations and systems experience with vendor and risk management expertise Willingness to travel as needed Series 99 or Series 7 or the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire Nice-to-have BA/BS What's in it for you?
