DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS)a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Bridgeport/Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees. NPS is structured into four Lines of Business: Surface, Submarines, Nuclear instrumentation and Controls and Marlo Coil focusing on supporting the power and propulsion needs of the U.S. Navy. We provide engineering, manufacturing and lifetime support of our highly engineered products.

Position Summary:Manages, in a matrix environment, the company’s plans to transition ERP system from Oracle to Deltek. The Program Manager works as a member of a facility wide project team ensuring assigned tasks are completed on time and budget. Indirectly manages Operations resources to complete the project by established deadlines.
Specific tasks include: orchestrating the Operations organization to meet critical path requirements for the project, strong material planning, material procurement, material storage and retrieval, and manufacturing systems relationship modeling expertise in other similar environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage and direct the daily execution of project requirements to assure that cost, schedules and performance goals are met on this transition
Develops and manages project plans necessary to ensure program success
Develops, with support of program team, required Statements Of Work (SOW) and Performance Based Specifications (PBS)
Establishes Risk Management plan with the Program Team
Technically astute to effectively interface with users and implementers of Deltek ERP system
Develop and execute program corrective action strategies
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
5+ years + Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Program Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have a track record in ERP expert usage and implementation
Knowledge of Supply Chain management tools and procedures

Vision (looking forward) to see total scope of Program progress and able to move subcontractor along as necessary to keep progress moving (e.g. vision within Sourcing to detect other critical path processes that could impact subcontractor processes such as another supplier)
Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization. Ability to interface at all levels is key. Major support activities with Corporate, Customer Response, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing
Leadership skills across multiple sites in a matrix reporting structure

Thorough knowledge of materials, lean manufacturing, source of supply, purchasing policies and procedures, supplier capabilities, performance and improvement, and information systems.
Business Acumen (Defense/Military environment, Functionally) and recognized expertise in Military/Defense Industry; keen understanding of the defense markets and business segments
Proficient in the development and tracking of internal metrics
Knowledge of database and application software concepts and structures, as well as ERP implementation
Develop Value Stream Maps and Business Case Analyses
Solid problem solving skills
Excellent presentation skills
Excellent leadership and oral and written communication skills
Most work performed while seated in a well-lit, air controlled environment in an office setting. Some travel (up to approximately 10%) may be required.
