Senior Business Operations Specialist - 170022R5 The Specialist provides oversight to the department's policies and procedures to ensure documents are kept current and communicated appropriately.to ensure operational efficiency and compliance. This position requires the ability to independently evaluate and analyze requirements and develop creative solutions to best support the business needs of UW Health. The incumbent works with users and within appropriate governance structures to determine system requirements, process re-engineering issues, solution design, and implementation strategies. The Specialist must have the ability to justify system design and concepts to stakeholders in a manner that is easily understood. The incumbent must possess organizational skills that lead to the effective management of projects, tasks, applications, and employees. These skills include analysis, problem definition and solution, conflict resolution, team/project management, planning, and consulting. Excellent communication skills are crucial to successful performance in this position. Problems encountered are of moderate to high complexity and require a broad knowledge of business development, healthcare and business administration, fiscal management and planning. The incumbent is expected to identify and resolve problems with minimum direction. The incumbent is expected to possess excellent organizational skills that will lead to the effective planning and management of work. The position requires the ability to independently evaluate and analyze data and develop specific work plans that achieve the goals and objectives of the department and UW Health. Incumbent works on a broad variety of assignments, the majority of which require an intermediate to advanced level of analytic competency. A wide variety of internal and external relationships are involved to perform the duties in this position. Internal contacts include representatives from all UW Health entities including Swedish American Health System and all affiliate partners UW Health IS supports as a Service provider. External contact is primarily with hardware and software vendors and industry peers. Developing and maintaining good communication and collaboration with these contacts is essential to accomplishing the objectives of this position and the goals of the UW Health enterprise. Work Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours a week. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Demonstrated success in implementing a variety of business process initiatives. Three years experience in planning and implementing projects. Preferred Progressive project management experience. Supervisory or management experience. 5 years experience of progressive financial and or project management experience Required Skills, Knowle ge, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and be result oriented. Strong analytical skills to include the understanding and documentation of business processes and the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes. Demonstrates effective communication with senior management, clinical, administrative, revenue cycle and operational customers, vendors, and external healthcare organizations. Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience. Ability to provide leadership and promote teamwork. Demonstrates ability to mentor staff and assist them in attaining desired results based on individual goals and objectives.
