This position leads Royal Caribbean International's Casino Operations team and is accountable for the performance optimization, personnel, compliance, and technical infrastructure related to Gaming. Develops and implements strategies to maximize Gaming and Arcade revenues, guest satisfaction, and crew satisfaction. Effectively partners with VIP Marketing, Analytics, and other Royal Caribbean Operations groups to continuously propose and pilot profit-generating initiatives.
Develops and relentlessly focuses on the key operational performance drivers of the gaming business.
Collaborates closely with Casino Marketing and Casino Partnership/Business Development teams to ensure a closely integrated approach to achieving targets.
o Also provides recommendations to Gaming leadership for action plans to ensure continuous improvement on these key metrics - identifying opportunities and managing business risk.
- Develops and implements Slot and Table Game Performance best practices.
o Partners with Analytics team to develop analyses of operations and service trends.
o Quickly actions findings and communicates effectively with both the Shipboard and Shoreside leadership teams.
- Continuously proposes and pilots revenue-generating initiatives.
o Provides insight for Royal Caribbean Operations annual strategic business plan and supporting initiatives.
- Oversees shipboard staffing, scheduling, employee performance, succession planning, and training.
o Develops and implements incentive compensation programs that drive expected behaviors and enhance profitability across the shipboard Casino leadership teams.
Continuously improves shipboard and shoreside procedures and understanding and training of audit and compliance to comply with internal and external audits.
Drives and supports strategic initiatives through the team that will include, but are not limited to the implementation of new casino technology and games; review of legal contracts; improved regulatory compliance; improving policy and procedures; managing logistics, refurbishment, new ship builds; and executing internal controls and audit requirements.
Works with IT and other shared services to ensure system and reporting enhancements meet business needs and to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Produces and presents professional business cases for proposed initiatives complete with operational and financial analysis, clearly articulated written support, and PowerPoint presentations.
Delivers projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Communicates clearly with all stakeholders shipboard and shoreside to ensure success.
Has deep knowledge of Royal Caribbean¿s Gaming and overall Operations strategic objectives (with focus on both onboard revenue growth and guest satisfaction) and utilizes Operational experience/expertise to help Gaming achieve those objectives.
Embraces and adheres to required quality standards and performance metrics, communicating openly and frequently and demonstrating integrity.
Cruise or Travel Industry experience strongly preferred.
Extensive (4-6 years) Casino Operations experience, with emphasis on Tables and Slots Performance Management and a proven track record of driving above-target results.
Experience with land-based regulatory and compliance requirements of Nevada preferred.
Experience with Asia gaming operations and high-value international players preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation and listening skills, including the ability to adjust style to effectively interact with external customers as well as internal staff, Operations leadership and brand Executive management.
Strong internal drive, creativity and entrepreneurial mentality - with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and provide insight/recommendations on how to maximize those opportunities to build the business.
Ability to coach and develop a team of Shipboard and Shoreside operational resources in a non-threatening manner that makes them a more professional, cohesive and coordinated team.
o Includes providing the appropriate level of direction, enabling others to succeed, and providing open and timely informal and formal feedback.
o Must have proven track record of being able drive change.
Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience preferred.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills required.
Exceptional project management skills.
Ability to solve interpersonal and operational issues- often "on the fly".
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, prepare materials, and present information to Executive management.
Ability to work, interact, and communicate with external / internal customers at all levels.
Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively.
Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
