The Kalamazoo, MI field office is currently seeking a highly motivated Groundwater Treatment Plant Operator.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities will include treatment system operation, routine sampling, monitoring well gauging, reporting and management of the site.

System includes: aeration, polymer enhanced flocculation, pH adjustment, particulate filtration and granulated activated carbon. Operator will be responsible with maintaining the treatment systems, tracking system performance and making recommendations for system improvements. Operator will be responsible for making minor repairs, and coordinating larger repairs and upgrades with management and outside contractors.



Qualifications:

Experience Requirements:

Familiarity and experience with each treatment system component is required.

Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of groundwater (or wastewater) treatment system experience.

Skills Requirements:

Applicant must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and current HAZWOPER certification and training. Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing

Education Requirements:

Candidate shall have a high school degree. College course work in biology, chemistry engineering, or geology is a plus.

Compensation and Term:

Part-time (24-hours per week), compensation to be commensurate with experience. 401(k) and benefits available.
