Description and Responsibilities :
Perform all jobs on the assigned lined, which could mean adding ingredients to blender, running the machinery and packaging and/or palletizing product.
Required to manually lift and carry packaged dry ingredients and dump from pallet to blender.
Perform variety of tasks to ensure machine is set-up and running properly (monitor control panel, pull chains to switch piping, etc).
Regularly handling objects weighing up to 50+ lbs in a frequent basis.
Frequently required to stand, squat or kneel up to 12 hours per day, and occasionally climb ladders or stairs.
When packaging and palletizing, will require to lift product and manually scoop additional product into bags, lift into conveyor belt and feed back into sealer.
Monitor flow of bags along line and when needed have ability to stop machine and fix jams if needed.
Cover for breaks and absences.
Perform a wide variety of miscellaneous duties which may include: sweeping, clean-up, removing garbage, taking samples, etc.
Participate in safety and quality programs such as orientation, committees, monthly meetings and trainings.
Required to maintain adequate performance levels as directed.
Must be punctual and attend scheduled hours.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Be able to work 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:20pm
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school education or equivalent; minimum of one year related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and manufacturing orders.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (manually or with a calculator).
Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Problem solve outside of standardized situations.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee regularly works near mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to dust and high allergen products (milk, soy, wheat, eggs).
