The Fracturing Operator will be a member of the Field Operations, Fracturing department responsible for preparing the well site for operation, mix and pump fluids during each stage of the fracturing job, and complete the operation safely. Reporting to the Fracturing Supervisor, the Fracturing Operator will focus on adhering to Calfrac’s operational, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times.


  • Responsible for operating, driving and maintaining the Iron, Sand Truck, and Fracturing Pump Units

  • Safely assemble and disassemble equipment used during the fracturing process (rig in and rig out)

  • Complete iron and sand inventory checks on a regular basis

  • Adhere to Calfrac’s operational, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

  • Accurately complete DVIRs and compliance paperwork associated with job duties (DOT logs, load sheets, trip reports)

  • Identify and prevent potential hazards and report information to appropriate personnel

  • Participate in regular on-site and off-site safety meetings and training sessions

  • Perform regular maintenance checks on the Iron Truck while following safe work procedures

  • Responsible for training and mentorship of field personnel

  • Using and maintaining the required safety equipment (PPE) and matching the equipment to prevailing hazards

  • Maintain all required safety and legislated certifications and courses

  • Other related duties as required


  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (shift-work, rotational, night-shift)

  • High school Diploma or GED preferred

  • Valid Class 1 Drivers License or equivalent required

  • Satisfactory Drivers Abstract required

  • Flexible scheduling and extensive field travel

  • 1-2 years oil/gas industry experience preferred
