As a key member of the Reed Minerals management team, incumbent leads and manages the day-to-day activities of several production facilities to achieve short and long term financial and operating objectives. Oversee all aspects of the BU's Operations (Safety, P&L, Staffing, Assets and Policies & Procedures). Provides key input to the annual business plan and budget. Has P&L responsibilities for select sites (half of the BU total). Helps to develop the organizational business plan. Monitors revenues and costs within his/her assigned sites, with responsibility to implement proper business reaction. Leads organization efforts in establishing a culture supportive of Harsco Corporation's values and business ethics. Directs and coordinates activities concerning operations & key commercial support by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Drives culture of safety at sites with execution of framework assessments, audits, fatality prevention programs, and improvements. * Assists in the development of new manufacturing processes and with new business opportunities. * In conjunction with HR, manages any collective bargaining agreements in his/her area. * Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems and then driving accountability at sites. * Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. * Create and approve operating plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, customer service, and workforce utilization. * Manage performance against operating plans and standards.
