Engility is looking for skilled Payload Operators with strong technical knowledge, operational mindset and mission focus to support a critical customer program. This position is vital to the success of the program and provides tremendous opportunity for technical leadership as a contractor. Operators with background in any imaging domain should apply. Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provide hands-on, direct command and control of a high priority sensor.
Perform as an integral part of a collaborative operations cell while being the team's sensor expert responsible for collaboration with internal & external SMEs to design and implement important missions.
Verify and transmit all system commands to the payload and possess a thorough understanding of how specific commanding actions effect the greater mission objectives.
Provide mission critical support to a fascinating technical capability throughout all phases of operation (pre-mission, in-mission, post-mission)
Manipulate Graphical User Interfaces and maintain situational awareness of surrounding environment
Operate, evaluate, and manage payload information and related ground processing systems
Perform identification, acquisition, recording, analysis and reporting of payload responsibilities
Maintain communication networks with remote team members
Study and research technical capabilities and limitations of payloads and sensors
Develop tactics, techniques, and procedures for sustainable operations
Work in a team environment and interface with external mission partners to enhance operational effectiveness
Provide input to planning and mission development products
Provide actionable recommendations during debriefs and planning sessions
Draft and coordinate operational communications with external organizations
Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Requires one of the following combinations of education and experience. Work experience must involve payload operations and 5-7 of the required years must involve working on specific sensor operations supporting a management mission area:
High School Diploma/GED and 15 years of experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 12 years experience
Must be proficient in command and control procedures, as well as, the end-to-end collection mission planning and execution cycle.
Must have the ability to maintain a broad and up-to-date situational awareness of current mission operations
Requires the ability to quickly gain an understanding of current mission target environments and associated dynamics
Must be familiar with collection methods and infrastructure.
Ability to quickly identify and characterize previously unidentified problems and then configure and operate the collection sensor to successfully collect against the new problems.
Extensive knowledge of known and emerging land-based, airborne and shipborne signal emitters.
