Provide emergency roadside assistance (tire changes; towing services; battery tests, jump starts and sales; lockouts; fuel replenishment; and minor mechanical help) to AAA members throughout our Queens and Brooklyn territory in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
Operate a company vehicle (tow truck, flatbed, battery service vehicle) in accordance with all established safety policies and procedures.
Explain AAA’s emergency roadside assistance policies and procedures to members and attempt to resolve their service issues per the Club’s established guidelines.
Accurately complete all required forms and reports for daily service calls.
Inspect assigned vehicle and equipment on a daily basis to determine proper working condition or need for repair or replacement.
Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid NYS driver’s license
High School Diploma/GED required
Basic automotive knowledge or training and a minimum of 1 year of driving experience with a previous employer are required (preferably in a truck or large vehicle). Must be mechanically inclined and able to use/operate various tools and mechanical equipment. Good customer services skills is also required.
Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements including a drug-screening, DOT physical, criminal background check, and employment verification check.
Must be able to meet and maintain Club standards and Club insurance requirements regarding driving record. Required to obtain a “W” endorsement on your NYS driver’s license and obtain a required NYC towing license from the DCA.
Ability to work overtime when job requires it or business needs dictate it.
