DENSO International America, Inc. Supervisor, Warehouse Operations in Maryville, Tennessee
Responsibilities include coordinating the day-to-day activities of a team who receive, handle, store, record, and dispatch goods in a store or warehouse. Ensure there is sufficient inventory to meet the organization's needs by ordering products; and managing out-of-stock over-stocked products. Monitor warehouse activities to ensure that goods are stored correctly and safely and warehouse space is used efficiently. Monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and protection of equipment and make recommendations for improvements. Monitor the loading of finished products to ensure safe and efficient operations. Directly supervise staff to ensure that all warehouse activities, and all machines and equipment operated, safely. Train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualified candidates must possess at minimum an Associate's Degree and 5+ year's supervisory experience in a manufacturing warehouse. A Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university and 5+ years manufacturing warehouse related experience is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must have a strong background in warehousing. Have the ability to strategically position inventory to ensure effective and efficient workflow. Packaging and kitting experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience and a general understanding of human resource management principles, employment laws, and procedures a plus. Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Power Point) and internet search engines. Working knowledge with email software (e.g. Lotus Notes) preferred. Working knowledge of inventory tracking software (e.g. AS400/BPCS/Stratum). Lean Six Sigma experience preferred but not required.
