Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Reports To: Manager
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Summary: Operates and maintains all heavy equipment including delivery of vehicles by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Transports vehicles and scrap to various areas of the yard according to outlined procedures.*
2.Assists the Transportation Carriers with all loading of materials leaving the facility as required.*
3.Maintains grounds for all seasons to include snow removal and grading.*
4.Uses bailer to neat materials to prepare for transport as needed.*
5.Responsible for proper cleanup of crush building and scooping material into nibbled automobiles as needed
6.Nibbler-Removes and segregates vehicle components according to procedure.*
7.Bails automobiles/scrap according to procedures.*
8.Responsible for reporting daily production to management.*
9.Responsible for maintaining and/or scheduling repairs with management as needed.*
10.Complies with all company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations.*
11.Operates equipment following all federal, state, and OSHA regulations in a safe manner.*
12.Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.*
13.Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.*
14.Reports any problems, concerns, or discrepancies to management.*
15.Reports all occupational injuries or illnesses to management immediatelty.*
16.Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid NY York drivers license
