ZENDESK Network Operations Engineer in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Zendesk Engineering & Product Madison, Wisconsin As a Network Operations Engineer, you will be able to use your experience and knowledge to make the Zendesk customer experience stable, fast, and consistent. You will participate in maintaining hardware and software configurations, network maintenance, and incident troubleshooting. You'll spend considerable time partnering with our NOC engineering team to further increase our level of support and coverage. What you get to do every day: Perform scheduled configuration changes to network switches, routers, and firewalls Assist with production delivery projects across our devops and platform engineering organization(s) Manage our production networking environment comprised of Juniper, F5, Cisco and more Participate in an on-call escalation rotation Monitor our network services for uptime, issues, and anomalies using a variety of leading edge tools Focus on operational aspects and knowledge transfer for our follow the sun support model Understanding of change management, incident management, and relevant processes. Maintaining fresh documentation such as runbooks, escalation procedures, and diagrams Willingness to learn new technologies, scripting/coding tools. What you bring to the role: Experience working with carriers and data center providers and AWS Networking A strong background managing network devices in a service provider type network A strong background in IP network routing Juniper, and Cisco firewall management F5 load balancer configurations and management Juniper, Cisco switch and router management PAN (Palo Alto Networks) firewall configuration and management Familiarity with netflow data analysis and reporting tools Familiarity with Linux Proficient knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IP management, configuration and troubleshooting Networking protocols including IEEE 802.1q, LACP, MST, VRRP, OSPF, BGP Proficient working knowledge of internet networking services and protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP Network configuration management tools such as NetMRI, Plixer Monitoring systems such as LogicMonitor, Thousandeyes, and Pingdom Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple projects and issues Strong verbal and written communications ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: About Us: Zendesk builds software for better customer relationships.
