Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and hard working candidate that is capable of setting up and operating a Vertical CNC Machining Center. Due to the size, cost, speed, sophistication, and/or complexity of the machinery; previous hands on experience

is required. Set up and operation includes, adjustment and/or replacement of expendable tooling, guides, jigs, and fixtures. This position will NOT require programming, this will consist of operating and setting up machines only.

CNC stands for Computer Numerical ControlThis means a computer converts the design produced by Computer Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers. The numbers can be considered to be the coordinates of a graph and they control the movement of the cutter. In

this way the computer controls the cutting and shaping of the material.

Requirements

To qualify for consideration, an applicant must possess the following skills. Possession of these skills is a prerequisite for employment.

  • Previous CNC Machining Center experience (Vertical and/or Horizontal).

  • Operator must be capable of operating other equipment as required for the fabrication of various parts.

  • Responsible for producing quality parts in the most productive manner while following safe work practices.

  • Ability to operate the following plant equipment: forklift, hand cutting torch, pendant jib, gantry and overhead cranes (also radio controlled OH).

  • Ability to use the following hand or powered hand tools.

  • Ability to add, subtract and multiply whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Convert decimals to fractions and vice versa.

  • Ability to use the following measuring tools: tape measure, steel rule, square, caliper, micrometer, telescopic gages and dial bore gages.

  • Must be able to concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations.

  • Must be able to work without close supervision.

  • Machine Technology Certification preferred and/or equivalent work experienceEducation: High School Diploma or equivalentMust be able to work 2nd Shift (2:30PM-11PM) Monday - Friday. Overtime will be required as needed.
