Our client is looking for detailoriented team members who are able to work within established systems in ateam environment.The CNC Machinist is responsible for editing and operating CNC machinesaccording to prints and instructions. The machinist will follow standard workinstructions of each required specification ensuring quality production ofparts.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operates semi-automatic or automatic computer numerically controlledmachine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations (i.e.forming, drilling, tapping, reaming or chamfering) on work to closeand exacting tolerances and finish specifications. Perform set up operations for work orders and edit programs as needed. Collects and records Statistical Process Control (SPC) data asrequired by inspection methods for each order to ensure quality standards arem Reads and edits G code programs as well as adjusts tooling offsets Operates the Optical Comparator and other measuring tools to ensurecorrect dimensions of machined parts. Receives and reviews production orders for machining jobs which requiresreviewing the blueprint and materials for accuracy. Oversees machine operation throughout the production run to ensure partconformance. Performs daily maintenance checks as required; includes greasingand/or oiling the machine and freeing the equipment of chips. May be requested to operate more than one machine simultaneously Cross trains in other areas as needed. Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent Successful completion of a machining trades course or apprenticeship ishighly desirable Should have a minimum of 2 years CNC experience in a manufacturingenvironment operating CNC equipment Experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plusDesired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with alllevels of the organization in English; both written and verbal Must have a high mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate CNCmachinery in a manner that uses raw materials to their best advantage andprotects tools against breakage. Must have basic math skills to read and process work instructions Must have knowledge of nonconforming material procedure Should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task Ability to read and edit G code programs and adjust tooling offsets. Must have knowledge of SPC charts based on dimensions and the ability toread them Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Must have a high level of attention to detail and excellent problemsolving skills Ability to work in a team environment Must have knowledge and understanding of operational data, machineset-up, blueprints and work instructions Must have ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities Must have basic computer skills Ability to use and read measuring instruments such as calipers,micrometers, scales and other quality control tools.
