Operations Coordinator

Camino Nuevo Charter Academy (CNCA) is a community of high-performing public schools that utilizes a comprehensive approach to prepare students from preschool through high school for success in college and in life. We integrate academic rigor, community, family, and wellness to empower students to thrive in a culturally connected and changing world. Founded in 2000, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy students represent the neighborhood of MacArthur Park west of downtown Los Angeles, a community that is one of the most under-resourced and densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Currently, CNCA has eight campuses that serve over 3,500 students from pre-K through 12th grade.

  • Oversee day to day operations of the Main Office.

  • Supervise the administration of all clerical procedures of main office operation.

  • Develop and maintain office / school procedures including the preparation and dissemination of information and functional supervision of the implementation of school policies and procedures

  • Translations

  • Mail distribution

  • Maintenance and repair requests

  • Manage office machines

  • Mandated training oversite

  • Meeting scheduling

  • Substitutes

  • Emergency Sub Plans

  • Weekly Jaguar Report preparation and management

  • Key control

  • Light first aid

  • Lost and Found

  • Rainy day procedures

  • Report Card process

  • Student agendas

  • Student billing

  • Student dress code management

  • Student Identification cards

  • Student Records oversight

  • Failure Notices

  • Facilitate new student enrollment under direction of Administrative designee.

  • Facilitate school-wide communication including Master Calendar maintenance and other communication as assigned.

  • Oversee office support services and equipment including maintenance of machines (copiers, laminator, etc.)

  • Supply inventory

  • Schoolzilla

  • Supervise assigned clerical staff including the cafeteria clerks.

  • Supervision schedule and monitoring

  • Technology management oversite (Lead Campus Aide)

  • Library Management Oversite (Lead Campus Aide)

  • Maintain, order and distribute office and classroom supplies as needed.

  • Provide operational professional development for support staff.

  • Testing Coordination including CELDT, Pre-LAS, and Smarter Balanced

  • Illuminate Oversight and Coordination.

  • Coordination of Quarterly Data Processes

  • Food Services Coordination

  • Food disposal and lounge cleanliness

  • Food ordering

  • Food Program oversight

  • Meal applications

  • Coordinating and Managing Special’s Schedule Creation

  • Coordination or ordering including supplies, technology, and furniture.

  • Picture Day scheduling and coordination

  • Manage payroll process

  • Plan and implement new student orientation

  • Implement system for billing, collection of money and tracking of school fundraising accounts.

  • Attend to student and parent needs and maintain records of services provided

  • Family event, hours, etc. tracking

  • Coordinate facilities requests, to maintain safe learning environments, and report to facilities designee.

  • Emergency management

  • Facilities scheduling

  • Positive representation of school and organization in personal and telephone contacts and meetings.

  • Bulletin board displays in the main office and MPR

  • Promote and model respectful professional climate/relationships.

  • Maintain professional main office environment.

  • After-school event tracking

  • Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties:

  • Maintain waiting list database and assist with spring Lottery process.

  • Arrange bus transportation and lunches for field trips.

  • Other duties as assigned. Serve as the office liaison to ExED

  • Assist with translation in meetings and other settings, i.e. SSC

Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Bilingual (oral and written) Spanish/English. Read and write effectively in English and Spanish

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures

  • Knowledge of operation of various office machines and computer programs

  • Knowledge of appropriate techniques used in giving out information in person and on the telephone

  • Work without technical supervision and take responsibility for accuracy of translation

  • Ability to edit articles for publication in English and Spanish

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Ability to work effectively with school personnel and the public

  • Commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of students
