VCA is seeking a “Marketing Operations Director” to join the Marketing Team. In this position, you will be a leader and a subject matter expert to our internal clients, responsible to bring projects to life from ideation to the delivery of a final product through people, process and technology. You will lead and inspire the in-house team of designers and creative professionals, as well as be an advocate and driver of VCA's brand and brand consistency. VCA’s ideal candidate has experience managing multiple projects across a variety of creative platforms within a pre-set budget, and a demonstrated ability to align creative execution with overall organizational goals.
In this role, you will provide direct oversight and leadership to the Local Marketing Manager (LMM) team of 8 field-based marketing experts supporting hospital local projects and the Creative Team of 7.
The position reports directly to the VP of Marketing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Creative Department.
Develop the creative strategies to support marketing programs.
Advocate and support brand design direction and guidelines at every level of the company.
Lead the creative development of multiple hospital-generated marketing requests.
Own the assignment; ensure quality across all aspects of request deliverables.
Support the production of marketing materials for the various initiatives developed by the marketing team with their respective brand agency.
Motivate designers to continually improve graphic design skills and maintain a high standard of overall creative performance and talent development.
Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring and organizing the creative team composed of designers, copywriter, and delivery managers and team of local marketing managers.
Manage outside resources, agencies and platform providers.
Lead the Local Marketing Manager (LMM) team and ensure the team helps local hospitals shine in their community and helps them meet their objectives.
Define, track and measure LMM objectives and impact on hospital performances.
Ensure creation of scalable process and sharing of best practices among the different hospital groups.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communication, advertising, or equivalent.
Exhibits exceptional understanding of the functional aspects of print and digital design, and exceptional leadership of brand expression across multiple mediums.
Demonstrate strategic understanding of emerging channels like social media, mobile, and digital.
Demonstrated ability to partner with IT resources
Must have exceptional project management, writing, and editing skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Aptitude at interacting with and presenting to executive level leaders.
Collaborative team player.
Must have a "roll-up your sleeves" mentality and be a hands-on manager who can pick-up projects with short notice.
7-10 years of Art Direction / Creative Direction, with ad agency and corporate experience preferred.
5 years of personnel management experience, including experience managing teams.
Experience managing a distributed marketing system.
Experience developing marketing creative and communication that drives consumer response.
Functional experience with all design tools, platforms, and versions of applicable software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

Occasional overnight travel throughout the US and Canada is required.
