Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Medical RecordsTech/Telephone Operator in Littleton. This is a unique position that spits time 50/50 between MedicalRecords and Telephone Operator responsibilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Telephone Operator: -Courteously and efficiently answers all incoming calls and connectscallers with the correct extension. -Takes and relays messages in an accurate and timely manner. -Responds to emergency and urgent calls from patients in a timelymanner. Directs callers immediately to clinical staff as necessary. -Performs operator functions including triaging calls; connectingand transferring calls; setting up conference calls; instructing users ontelephone procedures; and reporting telephone and equipment malfunctions tothe appropriate party. -Provides a pleasant and helpful phone contact forcallers.-Responsible for opening and closing the switchboard. - Performs clerical duties as assigned to maintain workflow in thedepartment. Medical Records -Scan and attach document(s) into specific patient file (nameand unique identifier) in the proper location of the EMR (electronicmedical re -Ensure that the documents are labeled correctly with proper dates ofservice -Verify that all lab reports, pathology reports, medicalrecords, etc, are signed by physician before being scanned into electronicmedical record system -Process requests for medical records -Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protectpatient and clinic MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years previousoffice experience, preferably in a medical setting; experience withelectronic medical records preferred.
