Alight Solutions (Formerly Aon Hewitt) is Looking For A Senior Financial Operations Analyst

The Senior Financial Operations Analyst is responsible for the day to day administration and quality of aligned client team financial forecasting, revenue recognition, fee submissions and invoicing. This role will manage Order to Cash related metrics for the clients they support and will work to minimize the financial impact of outstanding WIP, AR and write-downs. The Senior Financial Operations Analyst is charged with working directly with Client Financial Analysts (CFAs) and client team managers to ensure accurate financial administration while adhering to established financial policies. A focus of this role is to manage client level revenue and expense forecasting as well as prepare financial reporting for their aligned business partners (BDMs, BGMs or product leaders). The person in this role will be responsible for following established policies, processes and procedures and applying specific knowledge and experience to gather, conduct complex analysis and communicate client information and financial results. The role also will work closely with Account Executives (AEs), Finance, BGMs, and other Benefits resources. This role typically reports to a Finance Manager in the aligned Business or Product Group.

Responsibility Areas:

Client Financial Management

  • Serves as a point of coordination for all financial aspects related to the clients in the aligned Business Group

  • Functions as primary point of entry to aligned client teams for revenue and cost budgeting and forecasting which includes creating, maintaining, and reporting from client level revenue tracking tools for an assigned portfolio of clients.

  • Utilizes financial systems and tracking tools to report variances

  • Understands client agreements for assigned clients and applies understanding to revenue processes.

  • Ensures proper time entry of business resources aligned to client team projects.

Revenue Recognition

  • Ensures that client teams obtain sufficient evidence, appropriately track time against budget and review own calculations for fee submissions

  • Reviews for accuracy and provides signoff on fee submissions prepared by the CFA, including a quality review of the CP compare

  • Partners with the CFA to proactively resolve issues that could impact revenue recognition (e.g. expired evidence, held revenue, etc.)

  • Manages and completes the financial component of the annual or quarterly billing attestations

Invoice Preparation Review

  • Reviews invoices prepared by the CFA for accuracy and ensures appropriate explanations of line items

  • Works to ensure invoices are provided to clients as timely as possible

  • As appropriate, functions as a point of contact for the client on questions about invoices.

Financial Resource

  • Serves as a resource for any questions or concerns related to financial policies, processes and procedures to their aligned client teams.

  • Prepares internal financial reporting for reviews with the business and client team leadership for aligned clients.

  • Supports and drives standardization of reporting and processes within the role and the business they support.

  • Leads implementation of new processes and procedures.

  • Leads or participates on special project teams and responds to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests.

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor WIP/AR monthly to meet Cash Flow goals

  • Resolve invoice issues (i.e. credit/re-bill, provide support for client requests, etc.)

  • Work with Account Executive, AR Specialists and OTC as needed

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
