JOB TITLE: CNC Operator ProgrammerREPORTS TO: Fabrication Supervisor CORE RESPONSIBILITIESPlan machining operations from shop orders and parts drawings.Set parameters and initiate programs to operate CNC machines and/or create programs from drawings.Set up tooling, jigs and fixtures.Load and align materials and parts, operate equipment.Perform ongoing in-process inspections during runs to ensure quality.Maintain oil and coolant levels and perform minor service requirements.Ensure first-piece inspections are done and recorded.Occasionally operate non-CNC machine tools.Perform other assigned tasks within the scope of this position. OTHER JOB CRITERIAAdhere to safety policies and practices.Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.Some irregular work hours, shifts and overtime.Maintain cooperative working relationships. WORKING CONDITIONSNon-air conditioned manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, grime, dust, smoke and noise.Positions during the day include, but are not limited to long periods of standing, bending, stretching, leaning, stooping and twisting.Motions include, but are not limited to, walking, pushing, pulling, gripping, lifting, typing, writing and carrying of objects up to 100 lbs.Safety equipment worn as needed is protective clothing, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed shoes, face shields and respirators. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh School diploma or GED.Post-high school technical training and 1 to 2 years of experience, orSignificant industrial on-the-job experience in lieu of technical training.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Able to understand and follow instructions given in English.
