The current way of working amongst most of our food service competitors relies on traditional methods of driving sales and communications through a push/pull style visited sales approach. UFS UKI strongly believes that CRM, data, digital and voice communication offers a huge opportunity to accelerate exponentially with our future growth depending on contact strategies driven by data insight to reach operators. CRM and digital is the strategic driver of our ambition to have an engaging and buying relationship with more of our target customers through means other than our sales force and the operator data team is critical in driving this agenda.
The operator data manager sits within the digital conversion team and is key in driving business growth through data. Supported by a team of 3 direct reports each with a specialist area of focus across CRM and analytics, the person in this role will have the exciting challenge to lead the operator data team and wider local business transformation on the journey to a data driven business.
The role has responsibility for the overall data strategy from data collection, analysis and reporting to turning data into actionable business opportunities to ultimately drive sales and establish long term buying customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Lead and drive the data strategy to grow the UFS UKI business, using all available big data e.g. operator, transactional (SSD) , market and digital data.
Implement processes for automating the collection of all local data (particularly 3rd party SSD) and connecting it to our local/global databases and system landscape.
Drive the process of data-driven operator journey design and execution using the power of data.
Lead data modelling (predictions, opportunities, patterns, etc.) to improve business performance via operator centricity.
Use data to enable personalisation and relevancy of our communications, constantly spot opportunities to improve results.
Own the legal and data governance model on operator data including privacy.
Drive direct contact data driven campaigning through trade partners, UFS web-shop, customer engagement and eCommerce models.
Manage all local data and data quality.
Drive capability internally for using and managing data – drive a more ‘self-service’ model for reporting and general analytics.
Develop and own a more future focused process for business reporting and analytics (market share, etc.).
Monitor system performance for both internal (ESRA) and external (SalesOut) systems and work to implement changes to improve performance.
Management of local data agencies such as Caterlyst and SalesOut

Relationship builder and ability to drive your agenda through others.
Able to communicate to different audiences across local and global teams on this complex area.
Demonstrated ability in using data to drive business while communicating simply.
Proven passion for customer data, CRM, and working with & analysing large amounts of data.
Strong skills in Adobe (AEM & ACM), Excel, analytics, Google analytics, Tableau and SalesForce.com.
Excellent understanding of data modelling techniques and tools.
Project management skills.
Time spent working at a data agency preferable e.g. Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, Worldpanel, Dunnhumby, Aimia or similar (or experience working with this type of data).
Shown leadership to drive data strategy in a preferably multinational organization and expert community.
Extensive CRM & data knowledge in a business position.
Proven track record of leading data driven strategies into business results.
Track record of managing a data analysis and or CRM team.
Fluent English communication skills - verbal & written.
Demonstrable knowledge with digital and e-business.
Demonstrable knowledge with IT and/or analysis work experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
Understanding of UFS tools, systems, processes and ways of working.
Educated to degree level preferable (or international equivalent) .
