Job Summary

Responsible for the training and development of staffers in operational positions within the company in Nevada including Manager Development University, Onboarding Training for operational staffers, board member training, vendor educational events and other operations training as needed.

Responsibilities

The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned every duty.

Manager Development University

  • Promote and publicize Manager Development University classes to increase interest in the program and solicit internal student applications
  • Coordinate applications and supervisor review feedback for staffer applications for review with senior leadership to determine internal staff admissions to MDU program
  • Schedule MDU classes for students and provide calendar appointments and planning tools for the students' use with their teams and supervisors
  • Update and revise Manager Development University PowerPoint presentations as needed
  • Prepare and maintain Manager Development University learning materials including training binders for all students and a master copy
  • Coordinate FirstClass training assignments for MDU students with Corporate Trainer
  • Facilitate MDU classes for students to ensure understanding of core concepts of community management and present anecdotal examples of professional experience to students to illustrate material
  • Coordinate MDU classes to be taught by guest speakers for certain topics as needed
  • Review licensing schedule of classes with students and provide calendar appointments for use with their teams and supervisors
  • Coordinate licensing program enrollment for MDU students that have demonstrated their readiness for licensing
  • Provide opportunities for MDU students to meet together and with Community & Lifestyle Development Manager to review licensing class material, progress in licensing class and topics with which students are struggling to provide mentoring, study strategies or additional training
  • Provide coaching and study strategy advice to students to pass their licensing class mid-term, final and state licensing exams
  • Provide updates about MDU student progress at monthly all-hands meetings to mark the successful completion of MDU classes and licensing testing
  • Coordinate mentoring relationships for MDU students and seasoned managers, provide support to seasoned managers to develop mentoring capabilities

Onboarding- Southern Nevada

  • Coordinate with Regional Managers and Vice-Presidents for updates on hiring/promotion of staffers within their teams
  • Coordinate with support departments for half-day training sessions for new staffers and operations training with Community & Lifestyle Development Manager
  • Provide training calendar appointments and Onboarding Plan for new staffer, supervisor and departmental staff
  • Review and complete Onboarding Checklist with new staffer to ensure understanding of core concepts and procedures
  • Coordinate training materials production with Central Processing, maintain an inventory of training binder supplies
  • Collect completed Onboarding Checklist from new staffer at completion of their Onboarding Plan and to maintain complete HR files
  • Solicit Onboarding Training Completion Survey from new staffers as they complete training, organize survey results for review with senior leadership as needed

Onboarding Training- Northern Nevada

  • Coordinate travel to Northern Nevada to meet onboarding training needs on a quarterly basis
  • Review training needs outside of onboarding program with Northern Nevada office leadership to address other training needs while visiting
  • Present abbreviated onboarding training program for Northern Nevada associates with Portal forms/templates, training videos and other tools
  • Present other training presentations to staff as needed to address other training needs as described by Northern Nevada leadership
  • Solicit Onboarding Training Completion Survey from new staffers as they complete training, organize survey results for review with senior leadership as needed

Board Member Training

  • Review training needs for existing board members and marketing opportunities with Marketing staff
  • Schedule training classes to meet training needs as dictated by Marketing Departments and Regional Managers
  • Review and update board member training materials as needed
  • Draft new training materials to address training needs for existing board members and marketing opportunities
  • Execute training classes for board member training classes as related to operations
  • Review feedback forms from board members with Marketing staff to direct training program

Lunch & Learns and other Educational Events

  • Receive inquiries from industry business partners that would like to hold a "Lunch & Learn" or similar educational events
  • Review the educational value of the business partner's presentation for educational value besides promotion for that vendor's business
  • Review presentation material with Vice-Presidents of Community & Lifestyle Departments for approval before scheduling educational event
  • Coordinate educational even for vendor and solicit attendance by operations staffers

Additional Training Responsibilities

  • Draft training plans as needed at the request of Vice-Presidents of Community & Lifestyle Departments or Regional Managers for staffers as needed
  • Schedule, promote and track RSVPs for monthly refresher training items for operations staffers as needed with the input of Regional Managers and Vice-Presidents of Community & Lifestyle Departments
  • Facilitate training for monthly refresher training program for operations staff as needed
  • Maintain a semi-monthly action list to be reviewed with Vice-Presidents of Community & Lifestyle Departments and Director of HR to track progress and updates on all training responsibilities
  • Attend training as required.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Vice Presidents or Director of HR.

Requirements & Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Strong communication, customer service and inter-personal skills with working knowledge of the Adobe & Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain current knowledge of the state statutes, association CC&R's, and Rules and Regulations.
  • Strong mentoring and training skills with a focus on short and long term planning
  • Must be able and willing to work a variety of hours in order to meet the requirements of the position, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • NRED full Community Manager License
  • Five or more years of professional experience with Common Interest Communities
