GENERAL PURPOSEPerforms a variety of semiskilled to skilled duties in the Company sconstruction and maintenance operations; operates light construction andmoderately heavy automotive equipment; responsible for maintaining andutilizing current working knowledge and technical skills applicable to thespecific requirements of this positionESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Operates light construction equipment, such as tractors, mowers,loaders, backhoes and tampers Operates single-axle trucks, and other mechanical equipment, such asportable pumps, air compressors, jack hammers and boring machines Performs the loading and unloading of materials, such as pipe,fittings, cement, lumber, asphalt and gravel; cleaning of ditches,backfilling and snow removal; performs related unskilled duties Inspects and services equipment used, including cleaning,lubrication, minor adjustments and repairs Makes periodic reports of hours used and condition of equipment Responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment, and for thesafety of property and other personnel working around the equipment being used Operates Company vehicles and two-way radio in the performance of duties inaccordance with Company standards Responsible for the proper use and care (including preventive maintenancewhere applicable) of all Company property utilized in the performance ofduties to assure safe and efficient operation; also responsible forreporting the need for repair on all such property to immediate supervisor;follows Company policies, rules and procedures as outlined in the EmployeeHandOTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Performs skilled and unskilled duties related to the completion of anyCompany project Performs other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY DUTIESNot Applicable--EMPLOYEES ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL DUTIES OF THIS JOBJOB QUALIFICATIONSKNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITYKnowledge of water pipeline installation and repairSkilled in light equipment operations and preventive maintenanceAbility to perform duties within the Job Description under conditions whichrequire timely completion EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONSGraduation from High School; equivalent experience may be substitutedTwo years in power equipment in the installation, maintenance and repair ofconduits, ditches and appurtenances; valid Colorado Driver s License required Must obtain Class 1 Water Distribution Operator Certification within one(1) year of full time employment. Must obtain Class 2 Water Distribution Operator Certification within two(2) year of full time employment.
