MWR-NAS KINGSVILLE CYP Operations Clerk in KINGSVILLE, Texas
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this position is to serve as a contact point for information and to perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Child and Youth Programs (CYP). Works under general supervision of CDC, CDH, Youth Director or Regional Resource and Referral Director who provides continuing assignments by indicating what is to be done, quality and quantity expected, deadlines and priority of assignments. Work is reviewed periodically for accuracy and timeliness and to ensure compliance with instructions, policies, standards and regulations. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Incumbent performs a combination of duties related to one or more components of the CYP. Prepares and maintains assigned reports, correspondence and statistical and financial data pertaining to components within the CYP. Provides front desk coverage, logs children in and out of the facility, informs and answers questions regarding programs and services, patron financial obligations, waiting lists, events, and policies and procedures. Reviews and submits completed paperwork for background checks. Collects fees and charges and records payments. Completes a daily activity report and ensures proper deposit of funds. Maintains office files and records. Prepares daily, weekly and monthly reports in compliance with reporting policies and procedures and ensures they are submitted in a timely manner. Performs other related duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: High School graduate or equivalent and two years administrative experience. Knowledge of administrative support functions to include general office computer automation software, practices and procedures. Knowledge of (CYMS) Child and Youth Management System is preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate and follow directions verbally and in writing (in English). Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Must be a qualified typist and have the ability to utilize office automation equipment in order to maintain records and reports. Must complete all Navy Child Development training requirements within the specific time-frame to include CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition/Prevention. Must successfully complete background checks (local and National Agency Check with Written Inquiries). Must provide pre-employment documentation within three days of employment. May be required to work uncommon tour of duty. Additional Responsibilities: Serves as a mandatory reporter to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services as prescribed by local policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect.
