Position Summary:The University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a part-time Development Operations Specialist to support our fund-raising and alumni relations activities. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and creative individual to learn about UA Development services.


40Development Office Support - Provide professional administrative support to the Development Office and the Director. Reconcile and generate reports on multiple office budgets from various funding sources. Maintain office soft ledgers and work with staff to facilitate all necessary purchasing for the Development Office and UASAA. Provide support as needed for fund-raising activities including annual campaigns, cultivation and special events, and employee campaignsEssential

60This position is responsible for the Advancement Services functions at UAS that support the university’s fund-raising and alumni relations activities. This position serves as the Gift Coordinator for the UA Foundation at UAS with responsibility for the coordination of all Foundation-related financial activities on the campus.Essential

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience necessary to assure the financial and computer proficiency required for the position.

  • Two years of experience in finance, or a development-related field (e.g. Fund raising, donor relations, alumni relations, special events, volunteer coordination, non-profit management).

  • Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds is preferred.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Experience using Raiser's Edge software is preferred

  • Basic budget, financial, and accounting skills

  • Strong customer service skills that include both tact and diplomacy

  • Ability to manage both confidential and sensitive information

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team

  • Valid Alaska Drier's License
