SUMMARY: Drives industrial truck equipped with various lifting devices such as forks, clamps, push-pull, etc. to pull, lift, stack, or move products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


'


45% Loads and unloads trailers. Determines placement of product and transports to designated area. Positions lifting device under or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.

40% Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.

15% Reads work order or follows oral instructions to identify product to be moved. Reviews customer order and determines location of the product. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.

5% Operates hand held scanners and may manually input additional data. Recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.

EQUIPMENT: Telephone, scanner, forklift, and 2-way radio.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
