This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for a Purchasing Operations Analyst.
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Providessupport for purchasing system strategy. Analyzessystem to identify opportunities for improvement. Trains internal customers to use purchasingsystems.
Supportsfull flow of electronic sourcing process, including user training.
Understands,maintains and improves category hierarchy.
Implementsand maintains purchasing catalogs through coordination with suppliers andsourcing managers.
Participatesin benchmarking and improving purchasing systems and processes.
Analyzese-sourcing and catalog usage and assists Corporate Indirect Purchasing (CIP) inmeeting goals for utilization.
Coordinatesglobally with all of CIP for e-sourcing and catalogs.
Providestraining, support, identifies issues and escalates to Purchasing SystemsAnalyst for all purchasing.
Communicateswith global help desk and purchase order administrators any applicable changesor issues.
Coachesand trains peers, sourcing managers and suppliers globally on the use ofapplicable purchasing systems.
Skills and Experience Required:
Analyze issues - Solid understandingof how to analyze issues. Demonstrates use of analysis skills to learn andanalyze information in a timely way. Understands complex concepts and problems andidentifies how they relate to key processes. Applies accurate logic in solvingproblems. Differentiates what is critical and what is important while not gettingbogged down in details.
Develop systems, processes - Solidunderstanding of how to develop systems and process. Applies systems andprocesses to improve and complete work at a team/departmental level. Works toeliminate system and process inefficiencies and roadblocks. Demonstratesconsistent use of structured work documentation (e.g. communication channels,work steps, procedures, checklists, or flow charts).
Procure-to-pay flow - I understandthe requirements relative to how a purchase requisition is structured, theapproval process, and the subsequent matching process that allows payment; I cansolve simple problems on my side of the flow and know who to call forassistance for problems outside my expertise. I may provide support to othersin my area on standard procure to pay flow issues.
Purchasing ethics - I understandthat employees should abstain from any supplier engagement that may compromisesupplier sourcing, selection, and management processes but I am not alwaysclear what is appropriate. I know where to find clarifying resources.
Purchasing systems - I have a fullunderstanding of the capability of purchasing systems and the data that arehoused in the system. I use basic purchasing technology, including creating andmanaging purchase orders, storing contracts, researching invoice status, andcompleting Requests for Quotation. I understand the Production Parts ApprovalProcess (PPAP) including initiation, approval and storage of documentation. Ido not yet know how to implement or manage a purchasing system.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or InventoryControl/Purchasing is highly preferred
Minimum 1-3yrs of purchasing or inventory control experienceis required.
Experience and/or background in manufacturing ispreferred.

Base Salary commensurate with experience.
