CNC Router OperatorID 2017-2208 Job Locations US-MI-Imlay City Company Champion Bus Category Production (Assembly / General Factory) Overview:Set up and operate a CNC router to produce precision parts.Responsibilities:•Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as tape measures, micrometers and dial calipers.•Manufacture components to specifications using CNC and general shop equipment•Inspect final product for defects.•Set up, adjust, and operate the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations•Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.•Monitor and adjust the feeds and speeds of machines during the manufacturing process•Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances•Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of manufacturing components•Understand the operations of machine tools and be able to identify abnormalities during setup and/or operation of such•This position needs to be flexible to meet the changing needs of the business. High emphasis is placed on effective time management, the ability to work independently while maintaining a high attention to detail. This position requires the ability to interface with all levels of management.Qualifications:•Minimum of 2 years work experience in a manufacturing environment•Proficient in basic math skills•Proficient in understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing•Knowledge of the working properties of wood, plastics, composites and metal.•Excellent organizational and project planning skills•Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets complex engineering drawings, change orders, and production build instructions and documents.•Computer proficient with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and other software utilized in the production operations.•High School Diploma or GED with preference given for vocational trainingEOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
