Qualcomm's Open Source Portal works with internal and external groups to manage their use of open source and third party software. The Portal team is a multi-disciplinary team with a variety of experience and skills. Your responsibility will be to advocate for our internal customers and their requirements, support integration with release engineering systems around the company and provide operational support for the applications and systems we build that Qualcomm depends on for our software licensing compliance and IP protection.

Tasks will include:

This position will be part of the core team tasked with managing development and delivery of SW products to support Open Source usage and participation at Qualcomm. The scope of this position includes coordination and management of internal development and 3rd party activities to deliver products that serve all Qualcomm business units and projects. The successful candidate will be providing the following services:

  • Ensure consistent and effective integration of our systems into various release engineering and distribution system throughout the company. Feeding requirements and issues back to our team.

  • Administration and scripting activities in a linux environment, reviewing data (SQL) to troubleshoot, work with IT/release engineering to investigate issues in SCM environments.

  • Provide direct support to our integration partners, compliance and legal teams. You will interact directly with end-users, stakeholders and other service providers within the company to debug and resolve problems, provide information to the internal team and follow up with customers to provide support.

  • Participate in routine update and communications processes: update status, risk identification and management including mitigation and recovery actions

  • Partner with other functional areas within the team to establish proactive processes to support disciplined high operational standards.You will be required to learn and understand the workflows and process in place for Qualcomm scanning and compliance in order to effectively support the internal and external teams. Communication via telephone, video, email and web-based applications will be required to ensure the resolution of issues, and document progress and conversations along the way.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a supporting a custom web application in an agile environment and/or 2+ years experience in scripting and integration with release engineering and devops tools2+ years experience with:

  • UNIX/LINUX (Ubuntu or RedHat) administration

  • Writing shell scripts (Bash, Powershell) and/or scripts using languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl

  • Source control tools like Git/GitHub, SVN and Perforce.

  • SQL (postgres/mysql)

  • Ticketing systems such as Bugzilla, Redmine, JiraBachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with software focus or equivalent experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of web application architecture and Javascript.

  • Knowledge of open source SW, community and SW licensing a plus

  • Strong analytic, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail oriented and able to document your troubleshooting and resolutions accurately and thoroughly.

Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with software focus or equivalent experience required.
