Our greatest asset has been and will continue to be our people. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Risk Operations Analyst based in Houston, TX.
This position is responsible for:
· Data mining, business analysis, modeling/reporting and documentation: Monitor daily trading activity; gather data for root cause analysis, prepare and compile weekly/monthly metric dashboards to capture business incidents and policy violations; identify business risk issues and work with Risk Operations manager to recommend solutions; generate risk and other management reports.
· Confirmation and position reconciliation: Generate and review standard form confirmations for transactions done under master contracts, ensure commercial terms are correctly captured and confirmations are dispatched within contract deadline. · System testing: Use systems effectively and efficiently to mitigate operational risks; develop strong relationships with IT colleagues to test/implement technology platforms to deliver solutions to business requirements; assist management on routine automation and system testing as needed. · Teamwork: Collaborate with team members of all levels to complete daily tasks; share market and systems knowledge; develop best practice methodologies and approaches for business analysis; proactively follow up on incidents and escalate, if necessary. · Relationship building with clients (i.e., Counterparties, Front Office, Back Office, Mid Office and Functional Teams): Understand priorities of stakeholders to ensure that business needs are met; protect client confidentiality; address ad-hoc requests in a timely fashion. · Minimum 5 years of experience in an energy trading and marketing environment · College degree required · Experience with the contracts and confirmation process, including financial commodities and Dodd-Frank compliance · Must be task oriented, meticulous with a high degree of accuracy · High aptitude, affinity, and confidence in learning new computer software programs · Good communication skills, both written and verbal · Ability to recognize problems by analyzing a large volume of information in a systematic and logical manner · Detail oriented, thorough, focused, perceptive, and inquisitive · Dependable and responsive · Excellent time-management and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications · Experience with system implementations, user acceptance testing, process documentation, and special projects preferred · Allegro, CXL, Access, and Excel preferred
