The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the EMEA Institutional team at Invesco based in our EMEA Headquarters in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

The Strategy & Operations Manager is required to support in the ongoing development of the strategy for EMEAInstitutional and support the effective execution of the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the EMEA Institutional strategy with the longer term goal of establishing Invesco as a strong institutional partner across EMEA, delivering strong sales results, setting the stage for growth and diversifying the EMEA Institutional revenue base

  • -support setting of EMEA Institutional strategic priorities and deliverables-prepare strategy presentation to IVZ Board, ILT, EMEA Institutional team and other forums, thereby supporting Head of Institutional to engage senior management, stakeholders and support functions-monitor the execution of our strategic plans and deployment of financial investments and provide metrics on progress to develop structured and clearly articulated execution plans ensuring they are executed efficiently and effectively structure, capture and monitor plans and actions

  • Prioritisation of capabilities and product strategy; work with Investment Analysis, CPMs/PMs and Product teams to

    • determine priority investment capabilities for 2017/2018: engaging with EMEA ILT and broad EMEA Institutional sales team to interpret the investments needs of clients, prospects and consultants and assess how, when and what capabilities to use to engage them and optimise their investment strategy and/or advice proposition

    • work with distribution Champions to ensure we have coherent and simple “hooks” or “elevator pitches” for each of the prioritised capabilities and these are communicated and accessible to the broad EMEA Institutional sales team

    • contribute to the determination of product strategy based on client data
  • For the priority capabilities work with investments (CPMs and PMs), distribution, consultant relations and marketing to establish robust sales plans and campaigns:

    • monitoring progress of execution of these plans and campaign activities
    • co-ordinating visits to EMEA region of investment teams to maximise the effectiveness of such visits and ensuring that meetings with appropriate clients are scheduled
  • Client engagement

  • -work with EMEA Institutional Leadership Team to develop client engagement plans for all EMEA regions, channels and consultants and ensure alignment of these strategic plans with broader strategy

  • -monitor execution of these plans

  • Support effective operating rhythm for EMEA Institutional Leadership Team to enable the business to achieve its potential, in particular:

  • establish strategic priorities for EMEA Institutional Leadership team

  • monitor progress against strategic priorities

  • ensure effective monitoring of progress against individual regional, consultant relations and channel client engagement plans is in place

  • capture action points and ensure follow-up

  • personally, play a key role in driving continuous improvement throughout the EMEA Institutional business

  • lead by example and to demonstrate best practice

  • Contribute to project as required to successfully execute on strategy

  • Leadership and personal development:

  • collaborate and continue to develop relationships with senior business leaders

  • establish development plan to develop broad skills and knowledge of Invesco organisation


Key Requirements


  • Strategy consulting experience with focus on financial services and preferably specifically asset management industry
  • Experience in commercial environment, involving financial, people and project management


  • In-depth knowledge of the Investment Management industry, competitors and strategic trends, preferable
  • Ability to deliver high-quality presentations and analytical reports
  • Understands drivers of business profitability
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current economic and commercial environment and regulations
  • Knowledge of sales effectiveness and processes


  • MBA, CFA, Masters in Finance or equivalent,
  • If not mother tongue highly fluent English speaker with demonstrated ability to drive impact and develop written communication in English
