EU Transportation Operations Analyst

The EU Customer Fulfillment Yard Operations team is looking for an enthusiastic, customer obsessed Business Analyst to help manage projects, implement and improve metrics, improve yard performance, utilization and throughput and ensure that packages move efficiently through EU fulfillment centers to customers.

The ability to remain flexible and adept to learning new tools and systems is instrumental your role on the team. Our environment is deadline driven, fast paced and requires you to be detail-oriented and comfortable interacting or working with multiple teams (business and technical).
EU Trans Ops Overview
EU Trans Ops is responsible for Pan-EU centralized operations execution, including exception management and performance management. The team comprises 3 functions: (1) Network Operations Center (NOC), owning scheduling and 24 x 7 operations for Pan-EU Inbound and Outbound Transportation. This team owns operations execution and problem solving for issues impacting the network within 2 weeks horizon, (2) Performance Management, to improve Customer Experience by centrally owning detection and resolution of structural defects and (3) Yard Operations - centralized yard operations team to run yard and gate operations, develop and optimize yard processes and operationalize technology tools.
Purview of a Transportation Operations Analyst
Transportation Operations Analyst works across the EU in a cross-functional environment with the Supply Chain, FCs and the Retail organizations to determine future demand for Transportation resources, and translates the aforementioned into accurate capacity plans. S/he also maintains and reports up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis. S/he also facilitates the flow of information between different stakeholders (Trans Carriers/Hubs/Warehouses) and resolves any potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. Transportation Operations Analyst also provides timely resolution to the issue in hand by researching and querying internal tools and by taking real-time decisions. An ideal candidate should be able to understand the requirements/be able to analyze data and notice trends and be able to drive Customer Experience without compromising on time. The candidate should have the basic understanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly in the written and oral form. The candidate should be willing and flexible to work in night shifts as well
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyzing and identifying potential business opportunities
Create metrics, performance dashboards to measure program health
Engage with cross-functional teams and/or carriers/vendors for implementation of project/program requirements
Managing multiple projects simultaneously
Communication at all levels with the ability to present information professionally & concisely with supporting data
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or Statistics from an accredited University or 2+ years of Amazon experience
3+ years of work experience with business analysis, finance, research, supply chain analysis, or strategic development
Outstanding attention to detail
Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills
Results driven, with proven record of successful implementations
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables and charts) and VBA Automation
Proficiency in MySQL, SQL and Access databases
Proficiency in Tableau, R or Python a strong plus
Familiarity with data visualization is a strong plus
Experience in business process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma a strong plus
Ability to think quantitatively and qualitatively about operating processes and outcomes
Ability to think both strategically and tactically to analyze transportation programs
Experience within an e-commerce retail environment
Proven ability to handle multiple priorities
Proven independent decision making skills in an often times ambiguous environment.
