JOB SUMMARY: Performs necessary procedures to produce quality casting in accordance with foundry and industry standards.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Must be able to perform each task required to properly clean casting in preparation for finish grinding based on the guidance of the Grinding Shop Foreman or Grinding Shop Supervisor.Must be able to communicate clearly with other personnel.Must be able to maintain equipment to enhance minimal down-time processing castings.Must be able to operate necessary equipment to accomplish the job.Must perform other duties as assigned by the Grinding Shop Foreman or Grinding Shop Supervisor.SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: NONEMACHINE, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND COMPUTER PROGRAMS: The machines, tools, equipment, and electronic devices listed below are representative of those, which must be utilized to perform the essential functions of this job.Overhead CraneSmall Hand ToolsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, each essential duty must be performed satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret written guidance such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals relating to foundry production.Mathematical Skills: NoneReasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems relating to maintaining individual grinding station.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The following physical demands described must be met in order to perform this job successfully:Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds.Stooping or bending is required.Prolonged standing is required.Repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers is required when using tools in support of accomplishing this job.Must be able to perform requirements of this job while wearing the necessary safety equipment, i.e. safety glasses, steel toed boots and respirator, if required.
