EDUCATION: Required: BS Pharmacy or PharmD Desired: Master of Health Administration, Master of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, Master of Business Administration, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Desired: Pharmacotherapy (BCPS)
EXPERIENCE: Desired: Minimum of 1 year of hospital or specialty pharmacy experience with emphasis in accreditation standards 1-3 years of supervisory experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Demonstrable leadership experience
PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Residencies or equivalent work experience.

POSITION SUMMARY: Cone Health is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Director of Pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, to lead the successful accreditation and ongoing reaccreditation and maintenance of specialty pharmacy accreditation (i.e., Utilization Review Accreditation Commission – URAC) and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. It is preferred that successful candidates have experience or knowledge in building and sustaining specialty pharmacy accreditation standards set by all applicable accrediting bodies. The Assistant Director of Pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation position is responsible for assuring specialty pharmacy services are developed and sustained to offer unsurpassed health care experiences to our patients, healthcare providers, and community.
The desired knowledge, skills, and abilities of this leadership position include the following: 1. Lead specialty pharmacy accreditation efforts related to Cone Health Specialty Pharmacy Services (CHSPS).
Develop and, on a routine schedule, revise CHSPS policies, procedures, and guidelines to comply with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.
Thoroughly understand and hardwire into clinical operations all specialty accreditation standards that are applicable to CHSPS.
Ensure CHSPS specialty pharmacy meets/exceeds accreditation standards set by all applicable accrediting bodies.
Coordinate all aspects of accreditation and reaccreditation, including the submission of materials for review and onsite accreditation visits.
Provide proactive review of all areas associated with accreditation and, when areas of non-compliance are identified, formulate a timely and detailed plan on how compliance will be achieved and maintained.
Ensure all specialty pharmacy employees understand specialty pharmacy accreditation standards that relate to their day-to-day responsibilities through timely and relevant communication.
Maintain organized and up-to-date CHSPS infrastructure documentation that demonstrates compliance with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.
Cultivate and foster a top decile (tier 1) employee partnership culture.
Work collaboratively within a team of highly skilled and dedicated staff to exemplify outstanding performance and Cone Health iCARE standards and principles (communication, accountability, respect, and empowerment).
Create an engaging environment that supports continuous individual and group development within all facets of specialty pharmacy services best practice, including excellence in customer service.
Review, revise, and coordinate the inclusion of regulations of the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory bodies, as well as professional standards, into patient service procedures.
Develop, implement, and routinely report on quality and accreditation specialty pharmacy service measures.
Meet regulatory, national, and best-practice standards within responsibility areas through continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
Participate in professional associations and actively contribute to literature through publications and presentations.
Build and execute focused marketing initiatives to help patients, physicians, employer groups, etc., recognize and easily utilize the services of Cone Health specialty pharmacy.
Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and/or residency program director (if applicable) for pharmacy interns, students, and residents. Where applicable, arrange, coordinate, and conduct advanced clinical clerkships and internships for college of pharmacy students, including assignment of clinical staff pharmacists to preceptor roles. Where applicable, maintain residency program in accordance with ASHP accreditation standards. Prepare and present information on drug therapy and clinical pharmacy programs to pharmacy staff, nursing staff, house staff (physician interns and residents), medical staff, administrative council, hospital committees, and others.
